Commencement et Pleasant Hill.The exercises of the school began at teu o’clock with a large crowd in attendance. The examination lasted from nine till twelve, and to say that it was good would not half express it. Little boys that had to mount a bench to reach the blackboard could write their names or those of any others present as fast as called on to d) so. After the examinations the children marched to the dear old song of Dixie, with Miss Della Beaty, their teacher, walking ahead holding a large United States flag. Just before serving the delicious dinner, the wagons with the other school children came, waving their caps and shouting, “Hurrah for the P. S. H.The recitations were held out of doors on accouut of such a crowd.The following was the program :Opening address by Jackson Pope.Promise—Henry Huggins.Dialogue—How to Woo—Carrie and Charlie Huggins.Almost ft man—John Carter.Little Pinks—Della Miller.Somebody’s Mother—Lula Hug-gins.Papas’ Pet—Girlie Miller.The Little Girl’s Dream—Eunice Pope.Wouldn’t Say Please—ElizaMiller.Dialogue—An Anxious inquirer—Annie Carter, Miss Della Beaty.The way to spend Christmas— Lula and Ethel Huggins and Irene Miller.Greedy Benny—Reg. Miller. Dialogue—Our Flag—BessieHuggins, Bill Williams, Annie Carter, Reg. Miller.The Bee’s—J. C. Miller. Dialogue—Good-bye—Lon Williams. John Carter, Albert Pope, Mary Carter, Eunice Pope, Henry Huggins.This ends Miss Beaty’s school, she has taught three years for us, and we can safely say that Bhe has won the love and respect of all who knew her. And say too, that the tears of the little ones was sinoere as they bade their kind teacher good-bye. N. B.
