Hastings. — “ A PentecostalLeague mission was held in the Y.M.C.A. Lecture Hall, from Jan. 20th to 26th, conducted by Mr. John Thomas. He spoke at the noon prayer meeting each day (except Saturday) on the Christian Life as taught in the Book of Joshua ; and at 3.30 each day Mr. Thomas gave a Bible talk on Holiness. Mrs. Thomas sang a solo with much sweetness and pathos, and gave a short message. At 8 p.m. Mr. Thomas gave a Gospel address, and spoke with great faithfulness, as also at the men’s meeting on Sunday afternoon to the unsaved and to God’s children who, like Sarah and Lot, stop short of a Canaan experience. The word was in demonstration of the Spirit and with power. At the close of the mission God filled our hearts with praise, for many had received blessing, backsliders were brought back, and young men and young women yielded their hearts and lives to Jesus to be possessed by Him and live for Him. ‘ God hath done great things for us, whereof weare glad.’ H.
