The Cresson Literary Society opened their new hall on the eve of March the 1st, with the following programme:A quartette.—“We Meet Again To-night, by Messrs. Spanutius, Bohn, Struble and Johnson ; Declamation.—“Peaceable Seces sion,” by Mr. Small: Select Reading, by Mr. Lloyd; Oration.-—“The Honored and Unhonored, by J. S. Weller; ICssay.—“The Ideal and the Real/’ by Miss Minnie Roop ; Debate. Resolved: “That sound reasoning is more necessary in effective speaking than a pleasing delivery.
