Earl IVleverEarl H. Meyer, 61, of Rt. 5, Joliet, died June 22 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was treasurer and charter member of the Troy Volunteer Fire Department, trustee and treasurer of Troy Fire District, member of the Illinois Firemen’s Association, former Troy Township School treasurer and Troy Township clerk.Survivors include his widow, the former Ida HoodBarnes; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Stanley (Carolyn) Stafford, Mrs. Claude (Mary Jane) Beguin, Mrs. Kenneth (Margaret) Rice, all of Joliet ; a stepson, William Barnes of Plainfield; 14 step-grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard Meyer of Troy.Rev. Arthur Anderson, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiated at the services held June 24 at 1:30 p.m. Interment was in Hills of Rest Cemetery. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
