A cap and diploma topped the large cake that was the principal decoration at the party given by Mr. and Mrs Otto Renwanz. 6641 Wood st. in honor of their daugh ter, Daveeda, who was recently graduated from Lindblom high school. Present at the gathering Were Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Arendt and their daughter. Charlotte. 7649 Bishop st. Mrs. William Boske. 8526 Paulina st.: Mrs. William Reimer. About the middle of August, Charles Wickman. 6418 Seeley ave., a retired machinist, expects to be eating tomatoes from his own vines. Sinnce the death of his wife last September, Mr. Wickman, who has resided in Southtown for the past 42 years, has shared his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wickman. He spends most of his leisure time beautifying his front and back yards, where flowers of every description are in blood.. Kenneth Mauge, 6430 Seeley ave., collects comic books dealing with super-man stories. A June graduate of the St. Theodore parochial school. Kenneth has now in his possession 126 such books. He will continue his education in the Harper high school next Fail. Besides keeping an eye on his four-year-old sister, Carole Ann, ball games, swimming and shows will occupy the vacation hours of Robert O'Donnell, 6316 Seeley ave., a 3-B student at Lindblom high school. Tending her flower garden is the pastime of Mrs. Margaret Van Dyken. 6412 Seeley ave. A straight row of white clam shells separates a border of old-fashioned flowers from the lawn, which extends from the rear porch to the back fence. Mrs. Van Dyken recently painted her back porch herself, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bottema. 6412 Seeley ave.. attended the wedding of their niece. Janet Ridderhoff. whose marriage to Simon Kooi. 7300 Carpenter st.. took place last Satur day. Dr. and Mrs. Philip Canon. 6901 Loomis blvd.. and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sommer. 3354 W. 6lst pl. re turned home last Monday from Minneapolis. where they attended the Kiwanis convention. Mrs. August Jensen, 6215 Prince ton ave.. gave a recent banco party i the home of Mrs. Joseph Stuhl, 6324 Maplewood ave.. for the bene fit of the Sons of the American Legion of Englewood post. Richard and John Miller, 225 W. G1st pl., left last Monday to spend two weeks at Camp Cutten. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goldie, 8920 Winchester ave., left yesterday for a vacation in Los Angeles. So that their two-year-old daugh ter, Lynn, might have a spacious yard in which to play, the Eric Carlsons recently purchased a five room cottage at 6440 Seeler ave. The house is unique in that it has no plastered walls or ceilings, being finished in beaded wood instead, painted to blend with the furnish ings of the room. A Dutch mil, four feet high, centers the spacious lawn, where varied fruit trees and currant bushes grow at the side of the cottage. Everett J. Hill. 6350 Seeley ave., former vice-president of the 4B Class at Lindblom high school, is convalescing from a recent injury to his ankle. Mr.and Mrs. Malcolm Elliott. 6524 Justine st., are established in their Summer cottage at Union Pier, Mien., for the duration of the Summer, Mrs. James Watt, 6329 Hoyne ave., and her daughter, Margaret, left last Saturday for a week's va cation in Kentucky, where they will visit the caverns and Mammoth cave. Mrs. Magnus MHylen, 6030 Honore st., and her daughter, Mabel, also were on the motor trip. The J. I. Murphys, 6333 Hamilton ave. held a family reunion last Wednesday evening in honor of Mr. Murphy's 54th birthday. A turkey dinner was served at 6 p.m. Another Southtowner who re ceived a diploma this June is Marie Therese Small. 7743 Hermitage ave., who graduated from the Little Flower school. A family celebration was held in honor of the event and about 15 relatives and friends at tended. Marie plans to attend Mercy high school next Fall. Mr. and Mrs. William Watt. 6406 Seeley are., and their son, David, spent a recent week-end in Benton Harbor as the guests of Mrs. Watt's cousin, Mrs. Robert E. Dearing,
