Local Talent Did Well.The presentation of the opera, “Powhatan,” by focal talent at Brenau auditorium Wednesday evening was fine and too much praise cannot be given those who took part.Miss Gladys Oliver as Pocahon* tas, Mr. A. R. Nininger, Jr., asPowhatan, Mr. Albert Baker as Captain John Smith, Miss Helen Waite as Laughing Star, and Mr. Henry Smith as Captain Rolfe took the leading roles and did most ex* cellent work.Mr. Will Davis as die Medicine Man,Miss SarahHobbs. Mrs. W. H. Craig, Charley Merck and also others were fine, and the wfcrfte -cast is to be congratulated. The ladies of the Guild of Grace church resized a neat sum from the c^era.
