We are in receipt of an interesting communication from one of the guests at the Riverside Inn of W. H. Fleming on the Cowskin. Although we will not give her name the writer is a lady, therefore the fish stories contained in the following are undoubtedly true: Elk Springs, Mo., June 27. Dear Democrat: Talk about your fishing stories. I rather think the Riverside Inn can fur nish one as big as other big ones. After an evening and night of good old fash ioned pourdown rain the people at the Inn repaired to the river to try their luck with the funny tribe. Of course there were some, as there always is, who had a good big bite but it got away. Others who would have landed a good big fellow, only—but you know the rest. So far, to Mrs. Jackson of Benton ville, Ark., belongs the laurel wreath. She brought in this morning a 14-pound cat caught with hook and line, and for a time, until someone beats it, she is THE woman at the Inn, and this even ing at supper the forty guests will revel in baked fish, although after a dinner of fried spring chicken and everything that goes with it, the mystery is how can one eat so much, but we do. Mrs. Hughes (our own) has been the champion fisher before this, but she has handed the medal to Mrs. Jackson with out a twinge of serge . Mr. and Mrs. Rockhold left directions for a big tub to be ready for their day's catch, 50 we are expecting great things. _ A number of Kansas City people are _ Timmonds (brother of Mrs. Fleming) and wife. Lamar, Mo., Bentonville, Ark., and last but never least, Neosho people hold down benches at every table. For good wholesome food, pure cold water, the cleanest of beds and good all around outdoor fun, we recommend the River side Inn. ONE OF THE GUESTS. P. S.—The greater things have come to pass. Mr. and Mrs. Rockhold have just returned and called loudly for the tub. Their string of fish would delight the eyes of a sure enough fisherman and Mrs. Jackson of Bentonville, Ark., climbs back to the second seat and Mrs. Rockhold of Neosho sits squarely in front. More pride for Neosho. Mr. Hughes, just a plain every day man, came in just now with a string of 13 fish, weighing from 3 to 7 pounds each. How does it sound for Neosho? Heigho! Chocolate, Vanilla and Tutti Fruits ice cream on sale the balance of this week. Stop and see us after the show tonight. Neosho Candy Kitchen. 140-
