L. Power. J. P. Pryor and J. W. Booth were appointed said committee, and on motion B- M. Brown and the President were added to the committee.The i ommittee on Membership, made a report, which on motion was received and adopted as follow*:Wuf.kkaa, The Mississippi Pre*3 Association was not organised tor political or parti zan purposes, bat for the advancement of the general interest of the craft, socially I and professionally, hi which all the press of the State were invited to participate; and Whkkkas, since the last meeting of this body, another organization liar been formed styled the Republican Pre*s Association, with object© inimical to legitimate Journalism ; andBe it Resolved, That the coridut tor* of newspapers who assisted iu the formation of that Association. or who -yropaih»/.e with the purpose* thereof, are not, and can not be members of tttla Associations and are not entitled to seats herein.J.
