years as a collector ; The Guarantee Society were security for him% The defalcations were discovered in making up the year’s accounts, and the prisoner at length, confessed.After hearing the evidence,Mr. Ingham said he should remand the prisoner until Monday next to give Mr. Thome an opportunity of producing six clear cases.Mr. Thome said the Guarantee Society had intimated their intention of paying them only to the amount for which the prisoner was convicted, He wished to know whether the society would be compelled to pay the whole amount FMr. Ingham said they would decidedly have to pay the whole amount of the defalcations. The prisoner would be sent for trial for certain amounts, but before he was convicted the judge would inquire the total amount of the sums he bad embezzled and the society would have to pay what they really were.The prison 2r was then locked up.
