By Doue Ropp Daily Herald Correspondent The A’s staged a big comeback in their last at-bat while coming away with a 15-14 win over the Mariners last Saturday in Schaumburg Ath letic Association Baseball Major Division play. In the bottom of the sixth the A’s found themselves down 14-6 and they came up with 9 runs to take the game. Timmy Koncel started the rally when he reached on an error. Phil lip Rubino and Rocco Coduto walked to load the bases, and Mickey Molinari followed with an other walk to drive in a run. The comeback continued as Ja son Hendry and David Reynolds drove in a run apiece on infield sin gles. John McGowan drove in a pair on a fielder’s choice. Brandon Zickler cut the Mari ners’ lead to 14-12 with an RBI on another fielder’s choice. Next up was Steve Peterson and he popped up in the infield. On the play, a run came home as the ball got away from the third baseman. Zickler scored on a wild pitch to tie the game up at 14-14. Koncel followed with the game winner as he drove in Matthew McLinden on an infield single. In the top of the sixth, the Mari ners had forced the big comeback with 5 runs of their own. Holding onto an 8-6 lead, Joel Florence doubled in a run to put the Mariners ahead 9-6. A batter later, Mike Perrino reached on an error and a run scored. On the er ror, another run came home as the ball went out of play. Matthew Hunter hit a 2-run sin gle and Nick Martin doubled in a run to make the score 14-6. Hendry, Koncel and Petersen led the A’s with 2 hits apiece. On the Mariners’ side, Joseph Bodenstein and Martin had big days with 3 hits each, and Matt Miller added 2 hits.
