Senator Accepts Invitationto Address 50,000KlansmenJAMAICA, N. Y., June 29 (I.N.S.) —Arthur Jvline, field representative for the Major 32mmet D. Smith Ivlan No. 38, Knights of the Ku Kiux Klan, of Jamaica, declared early today that he had discovered the existence of a |}lot to kidnap Senator Thomas Heflin of Alabama if he comes here on July 4. The senator has accepted an invitation to address some 50,000 Long- IslandKlansmen here on that date.Kline said he had received several itelephone calls warning him that Heflin would he kidnaped if he comes to Jamaica. Yesterday, the field representative declared, he received an anonymous letter stating that “the United States senator who you have employed to harangue your Klansmen in Jamaica on July 4 will never reach the scene. His every move is being watched and we’ll take him for a buggy ride if ho comes to Queens.”
