MISS ELIZABETH JONES WHO RECENTLY DIED, WAS GREAT Y. W. C. A. WORKER!The following- article was taken from a recent issue of the Des Capital. Miss Jones was a neice of Dr. W. A. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Jones and daughter, Miss Carrie, attended the funeral. ;Information has reached the city that Miss Elizabeth Jones, the first secretary at the Y. W. C. A., in Des Moines, died at her home in Fairfield, Iowa, Sundav. The circumstances surrounding j her death were particularly sad. Miss Jone had given up her work and returned to her home to care for her parents, both over eighty years old. Her father just at this time is in a very serious condition and is confined to his bed. Last week Thursday or Friday she attended a Parson’s college banquet and the next day was taken ill. Her father was unable1 to attend the funeral which was held Tuesday.Miss Jones was well known in Des Moines. She did much for the upbuilding of Y. VV. C. A. work here and was considered an exceptionally able and good worker.
