Will Give Bryan One of Best Country Clubs in Texas.Quite a number of representative business men of the City of Bryan met yesterday afternoon in the offices of Doremus, Butler Henderson and went into a temporary organizationfor the purpose of building a $15,000Country Club. Mr. J. W. Batts was elected temporary chairman and Mr. j Jordan Lawler was elected temporary l secretary of the organization. Corn-i mittees were appointed to solicit mem-i bers for the new organization and much interest was displayed by allthose present.It is the purpose of this organization, which has not yet been officially named, to purchase 100 acres of {land, which has already been surveyed 1 and lies to the right of the Bryan and j College road just across from the I main bridge opposite Dellwood Park,1 to build for the citizenship of the city a Country Club second to none in Texas. There will be thirty acres of the plot under water for fishing purposes, $5000 of the proposed amount to be expended will be put into a club house. The club house will be equipped with everything that tends to n make pleasure for its members. Pool tables, bowling alleys, a gymnasium, j • a swimming pool, hot and cold tub baths, shower baths and a dozen other things. A golf course, tennis courts, a modern driveway for cars and other vehicles, and, the promoters say, there will bo nothing left undone to make things complete. The main entrance is to be located in convenient walking distance of the Dellwood station on the Bryan and College lnterurban.The membership committee started work this morning and it is stated that every citizen of Bryan who is worthy of membership is invited to join and if the committee fails to see you and you are interested and want Bryan to be up-to-date with a first-' class Country Club, you should seethem. Another meeting to hear reports from the committees will be held next Monday afternoon at the place of the first meeting.
