HARTLAND. W. A. Morin and Geo. Mason were transacting business here Wednesday. Olaf Olson left Wednesday night for Hull, Iowa, where he will play with the Hull band the rest of the season. B. N. Anderson of Albert Lea spent Thursday here on business. Miss Mabel and Lilly Mayland of Austin spent several days here visiting relatives and friends. Twin babies were born to Mr. and Mrs. A. Skjegrad, the fore part of last week. One of them lived only a few hours and was buried Saturday. While cutting weeds Wallace Arm strong was poisoned by poison ivy and has had rather a serious time of it. At pen writing he is greatly improved ot is still in considerable pain, R. Donovan spent Monday here on business, Miss Caroline Borgen spent Sunday with Miss Connors at Albert Lea, Miss Mary Thompson Sundayed with her sister, Mrs. C. Ackland, at Manches ter. Rev. J. A. E. Naess conducted morn ing and evening services here Sunday. The Trinity Ladies’ Aid meet with Mrs. Hans Christopherson this after noon, Miss Lena Narverud of Albert Leais Senens this week with Miss Nellie acobson, Helmer Stensrud is the assistant at the bank this summer. Ki. R. Hopperstad and sister, of Albert Lea, spent Sunday here with friends. The BE. A. C. O. ball team crossed bats here Sunday with The Kids Nine of New Richland. Score, 2 in favor of the former. Miss Othilda Hanson left Monday morning for Buxton, N. D., where she will attend the marriage of her brother, Theodore, the 20th. A mass meeting was held in the school house Saturday evening for the purpose of discussing the selection of a site and erection of a school building here this season. Nothing definite was decided upon. The marriage of Miss Lena, daughter of J. C. Johnson, to Emil Hatle occurs today at the Synod Lutheran church. A reception will be held at the bride's home after the ceremony. After a few days the young couple will depart for Milner, N. D., where the groom has a claim. Hartland will not celebrate the Fourth but P. H. Donovan will give a grand ball in his new opera house here in the even ing. The E. A. C. O. orchestra will fur nish the music.
