Congress of Rough Riders. The Minneapolis Tribune Tuesday June 27, 1809 says: Walter L. Main oho bring bia circus to Minneapolis any tiuie he pleases and be assured of crowded houses. The two performances given yesterday were as good as any circus performances ever given in this oily, and in some respects a great deal belter. The general excellence of the show was a surprise to tbe majority of those who witnessed it. It was the first visit of the Main circus and Minneapolis peo pie, therefore, knew little of it. In fact tbe majority of tbem had not beard of it before. T'bev were surprised at tbe cleanliness of tbe canvas, the generally neat appearance of everything, and still more surprised when they witnessed tbe performance.Tbe menagerie contained the fiDeat specimens of animals and birds from all parta of the universe, aod everything in the big menagerie tent was scrupulously clean. Tbe attendants about the various teota were unlike tboee usually connected with traveling circuses. They were, without exception, courteous sod obliging, and there were no unpleasant words spoken to anyone. In tbe big oirona tent everything bad a bright and new appearance, and one felt an immediate sense of pleasure npon entering.Tbe public, loo, was willing to take its cbsncea and in tbe afternoon there was not a vacant seat. In the evening people were turned away by tbe hundreds even before tbe doors were opened and those wbo were fortunate to aecnre seats or standing room were well repaid for tbe admission price sod for the inconvenience they were subjected to because of the fact that they were jammed sod crushed in tbe enormous crowd that surged oboul the entrance to tbe big lent.Tbe Walter L. Tbe borses. all of tbem trained animals, are gathered together in the center of tbe ring, and in tbe middle of them, mounted on a piebald, is Mr. Berris. In the ring the horaee move around in differ ent direotione, producing a kaledio-ecopio elieot wbion ie particularly beautiful. It is one of the most remarkable exhibitions of the kind ever witnessed in America.Tbe balance of tbe circus is equally good. 'I he eide show is u decidedly interesting place, sod tbe after concert, without winch a eliow is not complete, is better than tbe average. Tbe grand oake walk, participated in by several prominant cake walkers of the country, was a contest of more than ordinary interest. Hnd elicited no end of applause.Taken as a whole, the Walter L. Mam show is a good co*. Mr. Main, himself but 35 years of age baa has succeed in gathering together eome of tbe beet prople id tbe country, not ooly in the entertaining line, bat in tbe line of management, and tbe result oonld not be o ber than it is.
