Willie H. SherrodThe Rev. Dr. Willie H. Sherrod, a resident of Hazel Crest, died Monday, June 22, at Ingalls Hospital Harvey.A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church, Chicago Heights. A second service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Revs. Matthew Amos and D. Richard McCrary officiating. Interment will be in Washington Memory Gardens, Homewood.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at W.W. Holt Funeral Home, Harvey, and from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the church and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.The Rev. Sherrod was bom June 14, 1927, in Birmingham, Ala.He is survived by his wife, Lucille; four daughters, Patricia (Lael) Coleman of Hazel Crest, the Rev. Dee (the Rev. Larry) Thomas and WejPhand (Reginald) Thomas, all of University Park, and Mary Sherrod of Chicago; six sons, Billy (Varna) Sherrod and the Rev. Frank (Anita) Sherrod, all of Chicago, Eugene Sherrod of Cleveland, Ohio, Eric Foster of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Darryl Foster and William Sherrod, both of Hazel Crest; 21 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
