James Rambo, 59James E. Rambo, 59, R.R. 2. Connersville, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He became ill at home Monday evening and was transported by Lifeline helicopter to Indianapolis.He was born in Connersville, May 12, 1932, one of eight children of Walter and Mina D. (Burke) Rambo. He attended Connersville High School and had lived in the Connersville area most of his adult life. He was married Feb. 9, 1951, in Connersville to the former Nancy Horner, who survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had served in the Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had done extensive community volunteer work with the Amvets, 40 et 8 and others. He had been employed at White Consolidated Inc. and its predecessors for 21 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 151.Survivors besides his wife include six sons: Gerald L. Rambo. near Orange. Kim W. Rambo, Connersville. Kit J. Rambo. Falmouth, Jerry D. Rambo, Connersville, Jeffrey W. Rambo, near Nulltown. and James R. Rambo. Glenwood; three sisters: Mrs. Walter (Joan) Goetz, Connersville, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Taylor. Lake Wales. Fla., and Mrs. Otto (Helen) Gabbard. Everton; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
