Johns of Brookston, and operated by Harold A. Johns, 20, of 204 S. Elizabeth, Kokomo, was east bound on county road 200N when the driver lost facial bleeding. The driver had used a lap seat belt. A blood test showed a BAC of 208%, and the driver was arrested. A fence owned by Fred Flora, and the guardrail owned by Carroll County were . In vestigated by Deputy John M. Chapman, assisted by Jeff Hodson and ISP Trooper Jay Harper. Car roll County EMS transported the victim to the hospital. Richard C. Waskiewicz, 46, of 5030 Swisher Road, West Lafayette, was fataly injured when his single engine aircraft crashed in a bean field just northeast of the Delphi Airport on W . June 21, 1989. The airplane crashed in a field belonging to Betty Ross, Route 4, Delphi. The site of the crash is approximately 100 yards west of Road 800W and 50 yards north of Division Line County Road. Carroll County Sheriff's Department received of the crash at 3:35 p.m. Carroll County Sheriff William M. Coghill and Officer Lee W. Heard arrived at the scene at 3:41 p.m. Carroll County Emergency Medical personnel were also dispatched along with the Carroll County Paramedic Unit. The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene by Carroll County Coroner Robert Baker, who order an autopsy. Officials from the Federal Aviation Administra tion (FAA) were notified by Carroll County and ar rived at the location at 6:48 p.m. The FAA will — the investigation into the cause of the crash. Preliminary investigation indicates the pilot may have been practicing landings and takeoffs from the Delphi location.
