Fourth of July eve will bring the Outlaws and .Loggers together in a benefit game for Dick Buhlert. who was killed in an auto accident.' July 11 is the Piacer-Nevada League’s ati-slar game in Lincoln, with eight Outlaws slated to play..While it is a little late in the day for a SMaeerviMMo-Lincotn motorcade of fans tonight, let’s hope that everyone who can will jump into the o’r buggy anti make the trip. The game promises to he a (lilly. The Loggers’ lone loss in the loop has been to the (Tibs, by a 12-7 margin. The El Doratloans without doubt played their worst game that day. Walks and errors nullified the 12 hits they collected.The Loggers have come along tremendously for a yearling team. Dink' Wentz and Alcio Bmpello have moulded a bunch of high school and college players into a -fairly well-balanced team. True, they might not have the class of the ol’ pros in the Placer-Nevacka League,• but they do have hustle and a lotof potential.DURING THIS INITIAL period fan support is important— not that it shouldn't be fr.r all hometown teams—and it would probably give the boys a little more confidence if they have a good’turnout tonight from PlacerviUe to cheer them on.The Outlaws and Loggers have agreed to play The Buhlert benefit game oh Tuesday eight before the Fourth of July. Proceeds from the buck donation at the gat and the concession stand will go to Buhlert’s family.Since there will be some fans who may not be able to make the game, donations will be accepted at Lindy’s club.Let's hope that the turnout at ihe game, and the generosity of the hometown fans will do credit to iPlacervi-iie.
