James W. Rogers Receives PromotionAt a Mid-Pacific Naval Base— Vice Admiral William Ward Smith, USN, Commander Service Force, Pacific Fleet, has announced the advancement in rate of James W. Rogers, of Route 5, Lexington, Miss., to motor machinist’s mate, second class.The Service Force which Vice Admiral Smith commands plans and coordinates the delivery of fuel, ammunition, food and supplies to the fighting ships of the Pacific Fleet.The Service Force also supervises maintenance and repair of ships in the forward area, administration of Construction Battalions (Seabees), development of captured harbors and establishment of advanced Naval bases._____11 T- l«
