Resident of Madison for 84. Years Passes Away Saturday Mrs. Martha Miller Boyd, 64, wife of Joseph M. Boyd, former president of the Joseph M. Boyd’ Co., died Sat urday afternoon at a local hospital, after an iiness of more than a year Born June 13, 1847, Mrs. Boyd, formerly Miss Martha Mary Miller, was the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. John G. Miller. The Rev. Mil ler was the first German Evangelical minister and circuit rider in Wiscon sin. Mrs. Boyd became ill a year ago his May, suffering a paralytic stroke. She was stricken a second time last ‘Thursday. Born in the town of Blooming Grove, near the ‘city limits of Mad ison, Mrs. Boyd had been a resident of this city all her life. Surviving her are one sister, Mrs. Sarah Miler Einsel, Hastings, Neb.; one stepson, Stanley M. Boyd, New York city; two stepdaughters, Mrs Choral Boyd Cook, Winnetka, UL; and Mrs. Emma Mary Boyd Darey, San Antonio, Tex, and her huband, Joseph M. Boyd, Madison. Mrs. Boyd was married to Mr. Boyd on June 18, 1901. Active in several local organizat ions, she was the first president of the Madison Young Woman's Chris tian association. She was slow member of the University Methodist church, the Madison Art guid, and the Madison Woman's club, Dr. Willem Moore, pastor of Uni versity Methodist church, will con duct funeral services, arrangements for which will be adnnounced later.
