LONG CHERISHED DREAM OF HOTEL AT HENDERSON POINT MAY BE REALIZEDNew Orleans Times-Picayune.The long-cherished dream of a great resort hotel at Henderson Point, on the Mississippi coast soon may be realized. The large tract at the point opposite Bay St. Louis, measuring 500 ft. front on the Gulf, by 1,000 ft on the Bay, has been acquired by S. W. Sou-ers, president of the Mortgage Securities Company, and Henry Bacon, construction manager at \he Foundation Company's shipbuilding plant. The deal with the Mexican Gulf Land Company, or the Hughes Estate, owner of the property was closed Monday. The f’rst development will take place in the rear ofthe property onther Bay side, it is said, where the land is lower than the remainder. There a model yacht pen or inner harbor is to be dredged out and the raised banks divided into residence sites, with ample room for fifty cosy dwellings. The entire front on the Gulf, for a ‘depth of about 250 feet on the^,Bay, will be reserved for hotel purposes, it is said. The spot always has been regarded as ideal for such utilization, and a number of attempts have been made to organize the enterprise, but none of these mustered sufficient capital. Mr. Soueis said Monday that while no plans had been formed, it was decided to keep the site intact.
