FIND BODY OFJ. B. HAMMONDThe body of Jesse B. Hammond, who was drowned in the Des Moines river, near Pittsburg June 12, was found near Farmington Sunday evening about 7:30 o’clock. The body was floating when discovered.Mr. Hammond and Ed Lancey, whose body was found sometime ago, were drowned while on a trip down the river to Cairo, Illi-noise, to bring back a house boat owned by Mr. Hammond. The boat in which the men were riding struck a pier of the Pittsburg bridge, capsizing.The body was brought back toOttumwa Monday.The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock from the armory, Fourth and Market streets.—0 fcumwa Courier.
