The ■ Iowa Dairy management is operating • • the Independence factory as a branch concern j and Theodore Menges of this city ls{ acting superintendent. Work wag resumed last Monday. The Independence concent's output, for. nearly a year was bandied through the Associated Manufacturers company. Gasoline engines were manufactured by hundreds, advertised by- the local seib lug company- and shipped out as its product.Last fall the factory closed down and twenty-five men who up to then had beene regularly employed were out of jobs. The contract calls for the operation of the Independence plant by the Marsh interests for several years with the privilege of re^ newai. Twelve men were put to work Monday and aa soon as additional raw material arrives more hands will be added.The plant will turn out a cement mixing machine that w tit retail at $85. A. resumption of the manufacturing of gasoline engines 1b also forecasted.n
