On the afternoon of the 1st of July Third street will be one if not the busiest thoroughfares in the city. The horse racing, Which the sports committee has arranged for is expected to be a highly satisfactory attrac tion and while the events are not e numerous, some classy turnouts will be entered in the different events and each event Will be keenly contested Among the items on the pro grant for horse racing is an In dian pony race which has in fortier years been a popular at traction on the North Shore. A number of speedy equines have been entered for the saddle race no less interesting will be the cow puncher's saddle pony race. The excitement of the whole meet will be the ex pressmen's novelty race. In this race the drivers will be re quired to run their horses for a considerable distance, hitch up to their wagons, load on at a heavy trunk and race back to, “the finish
