Obituary.Mrs. Amanda Owens, wile of J. M. Owens, died early Sunday morning of congestion, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Ro-. .gers. She was laid to rest in now Hope cemetery Monday at 11:30 am,, the funeral service being coaducted by Rev. Geo. B. Jackson.They lived out in Rabbit Trap and Saturday morning she came to town with ogga and spent some hours in town when she took suddenly with congestion and grew gradually worse until the end came*-*She was born on April 24, 1858, in Georgia, aild was mar* ned to J. M. Owens on August! 26, 1876.’ To this union 8 children wei;e born, 5 of whom are now living. She had been a member of the Baptist church for over 31 years, and her consecrated Christian life is the best indication of whnt she really was. A-boult; 13 years ago the family moved to this country from Geor-Mre. Gwens had many friends wherever she lived. She was a devoted wife, loving and kind I mother and a worthy neighbor, j kind and charitable to all. i The Standard joins a host of ' friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved. -
