Eliuter Emil Maeser Returns From His Mission to Germany. We had a very pleasant call this morn ing from Elder Emil Maeser, son of Prof. E. G. Maeser, who returned home Wed nesday night from his mission to the Swiss and German mission. Brother Maeser left for his field of labor on the 23d day of May, 1887, twenty-five months ago. The most of his time was spent in Bavaria amd Wartenburs. Much success was met with in the latter place, but in Bavaria a tough time was encountered, the police getting after him severely at times, allthough without suc cess. There is too much Catholicism in Bavaria to do much to the way of prevahing the Gospel. But in Wurtem urg, the results were very quratifying. Brother Maeser was secretary of the company of Saints that arrived in Provo on Wednesday night, fifty-two of whom were Swiss and Germans.
