Hivlnff.Washington, Juno 23.—The funeml of General Charles Ewing took place from his j into resilience yesterday afternoon, and win attended by a largo number of friends of hii own and Genornl Sherman's family, including many of the most prominent j otliclata in the city.. '-The casket was draped with stile flags, and the headquarters flag'of the Seventeenth corps stood at the head. Gen. Thomas Ewing, Judge Charles Ewing aucl their families were present with the widow; also Mrs. Gen. Sherman and family and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine. The honorary pull-bcnrors wero Gon. Rufus Ingalls,Gop. 11. C. Sclmeek, Hon. H. M, Teller, H, W. W. Upton, Col. Jolm M. Bncon, H. J. i Rnmsdell, General M. C. Meigs,Rear Admiral Stevens and the Hon. Stanloy Matthews. The active ball-bearers wero Colonel O. M. Poe, Colonel John If. Tourtolotto, General II. C. Drum, General S. 8. Burdette, William B, Webb, N. P. Lovcrldgo, the Hon. J. K. McCainmon, Colonel D. U. Forney, General J, W. Denver, General Charles C. Walcott, and General H. V. Boynton.
