Some 17 area youngsters won prizes Sunday at the Bennington Catholic High School Horse Show in Bennington, Vt. George E. Maxwell of Stam ford, Vt., won third prize in the Morgans in hand class and third prize in the Morgans in harness class. In both events he rode Townshend Challenge. Pamela Littlejohn of Cheshire took fifth prize in the 4-H fitting and showmanship category, sec ond prize in the stock division and third prize in the AHSA medal class (saddle seat) event. Hermount in all three events was Cedar Grove First Gentle man. Fifth Prize Lyance Littlejohn of Cheshire won fifth prize in the class 9 lead line event, riding Cedar Grove First Gentleman. Tina Dorst of North Adams was awarded four prizes, for fin ishing third in the open road back class, first in the saddle seat division of the horsemanship for children 14 to 17, second in the AHSA medal class, and third in the open three-gaited saddle horse division. Her mount was The Skipper. Donald George of North Ad ams won second prize, riding Timkin, in the hunters and jump ers warmup. And his brother, Harry A. George, took second prize in the knock down and out event. The latter’s mount was Mr. Mohawk, Randy Jane Crosier of Reads boro, Vt., took three awards, for finishing third in the Bennington County children’s class of the warm-up for hunters and jumpers event, third in the ladies’ working hunter class and third in the hunt seat division of the horsemanship for children under 14 division, Miss Crosier rode Gay Blade. First Prize Clare George of Williamstown won first prize in the saddle seat division of the horsemanship for children under 14 event, riding Valiant Prince. She also took sec ond prize in the open three gaited saddle horse event. Mary Burns of Stamford, Vt., took third prize in the lead line class, and Michelle Maynard, also of Stamford, won sixth prize in the same division. Roy Maynard of Stamford won third prize in the pleasure driving event. Three Cheshire youngsters, Karen Dooley, Alan Lavigne and Roy Lindsay also won one prize each. Miss Dooley took second prize in the walk-trot class. La vigne won third prize in the lead-line event, and Roy Lindsay also took third prize, this time in the open jumpers division. Two Pownal, Vt., boys, Fred Bishop and Jim Bishop, won awards in the pony division of the pleasure driving event. The former won third prize and the latter fourth prize.
