FACULTY CHANGES ANNOUNCED AT JSTCDr. L. W. Allison, head of thePsychology Department, is backfrom the University of Chicage, where he has been working on a fellowship the past twelve months. He has made intensive studies on child development.Mr. P. J. Arnold, head of the Science Department, is leaving July 1 fo rNew York, where he wilt spend six weeks in the science workshop ct Teacheru College, Columbia University. He will work with Dr. S. R. Powers who is professor of natural* sciences. This is an honor for JSTC, as he is one of the four chosen from the Southern states.Two new additions to the elementary laboratory school* areMies Marietta McCorkle and MissMeredith Bullock. Miss McCorkle has degrees from Peabody College and Columbia University, and has been on the faculty of Concord Teachers College, Virginia. Mfcs Bullock graduated from the University of Alabama, and Peabody College, and comes here from the Livingston State Teachers College Both will aasume their new positions in the falbFor the Summer Quarter only. Miss Inez Spears, lt;a graduate of the college, yj. filling a position in the commercial departm nt. Miss Spears, since graduation here last June, has been employed au commercial, teacher in the Gadsden City Schools.Miss Sue Keller will leave July10 for Chautauqua, N. Y„ where she has a scholarship for six week’s study in the field cf social hygiene. She was recommended by Dr. Mabel Lesher, a member of the faculty -t Chautauqua, who was brought to Alabama last year by the State Department of Education for a series of ieetures on social hygiene.Miss Keller s study it Chautauqua will be under the supervision of New York University. In addition to the courses, she wil1. have free access to the concerto and lectures on the grounds.Mtos Keller is the only person recommended for this scholarship from Alabama. She will resume her work here in the fall.
