Alleged Participant in Oil Station Holdup Found Guilty By Jury By FOSTER EGNER The alleged bandit career of Zemer (Zemo) Conway, termed by Mobile officers as a “public en emy,” was nipped in the bud to day when a jury in circuit court decided to send him to the peni tentiary for life. Soon after the jury returned a guilty verdict and set the penalty at life imprisonment, Judge Joel W. Goldsby sentenced the alleged Mobile “badian.” His attorneys did not file an ap peal. However, they have 10 days to decide what action they may take. Robbery Charged Conway was charged with the robbery of the Specification Mo tor Oil Co. station last March. Lawrence and Willie Williams and Olin Rayburn were indicted in the same robbery. Willie Williams was sentenced to the death chair. Lawrence Williams was given a life sentence. Rayburn's case ended last week, in a mistrial. The jury took the Conway case last night but after an hour's de liberation they were taken to an hotel for the night.
