The lethel weapon was a pistol.It appears from statements made that Floyd Payne and Butler Doolin had had a difficulty a short time before and Mrs. Doolin and Butler Doolin. who is about 19 years of age. came in to take out a warrant for the arrest of Floyd Payne who was charged with striking Butler Doolin. It was while they were in town that Floyd Payne and Ell Doolin met at the residence of James K. Payne, father of the dead man. Several shots are alleged to have been fired, but only ohe took effect. The bullet entered the left arm and then the body. The slayer came in Sunday and surrendered. Following this tragic affair, a warrant was Issuedfor the arrest of Frank Payne,, charged with shooting at Jan. Doolin on Saturday.
