niiiiif*etAnother Nearly Drowned onHudson Bay RailwayOscar Anderson and Herbert Reid, at the 72-mile post on the Government H. B. R. north of Le Pas, were out hunting along theright-of-way, Reid carrying a 22-calibre rifle which accidently discharged wounding Anderson in the back. Word of this reached town on Friday at 10 a. m. Doctor Orok accompanied by Corporal Grennan of the R.N.W.M.P., left at 4 p. m. by canoe for.the scene of the accident, arriving next day at ;J 8 p. m. The unfortunate man wash operated upon by the surgeon whoextracted the bullet from a point two inches above the heart. The operation was entirely sucessful. Thepatient is now well on towards reoovery. The very hard travelling encountered through the lowness of water and rough trails made the trip one of exceptional physical 11 difficulty, the two men making the [ grade by a circuitous route of 150miles, a record as to time. |gOn the way up—52 miles from Le Pas—tw'o miles from Scott’s camp on the H. B. R., a young Scotchman, Alex. Pebbles, was found suffering from sunstroke, with hi$ face buried in water, and almost on the point of death. After some hard work Doctor Orok and Corporal Grennan^ resuscitated the unfortunate timekeeper, and brought him to a camp three-quarters of a mile away, where he is now being ] i cared for.
