Mr. and Mrs. Julius Mattson have returned from a ten day Visit in Detroit. Mr. Mattson represented Baraga County Aerie of Eagles and also attended several baseball games. vi Fredendall spent a leave at home recently following completion of his boat training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Klaasse, Beaverton Mich.visited Miss Betty Holliday recently, Mrs. WKlasse is the former Ruth Lun cab. They were married January 1. Mr. Klaasse is musical direc tor at the Beaverton schools. Lawrence L. Robert has left’ for Pretroit to fees ~Teed for right weeks. He Will enroll again in September to finish his course. Lawrence was discharged recently from the Navy after three and one half years service. Jack’ Knuutila, S2e, U. S. Navy, who is stationed at St. . Simon Island, Georgia, visited his par ents, Mr.and Mrs. Earl Latterel, recently, . Theodore’ Johnson is making sev eral improvements and repairs to his home on Fifth street, among which are new sills and an addi tional room. Mr. and Mrs. Al Terhart, of Minneapolis, expent their recent honeymongy with their uncle and sont, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chevalier. Mr. and Mrs Alfred Saxberg, daughter Margaret and sons Dick and Bob, of Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Soli at their camp on Huron Rev. A housewarming party was ten- were Mrs SEPSS at their home in Brennan's addi tion recently. A number of friends attended, Mrs. Lydia Lundahl visited at the home of Mrs. M. E. Gipp re cently. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hl and son Harry attended the graduation ex ercises of their son and brother Bob at the Salvatorian College, St. Nagziany, Wis. Bob graduated with a Marna Cum Laude” and deliv ered the valedictory address. Mrs. Thore Thoresen suffered a paralytic stroke recently and has been quite ill at her, home. Mrs. Thorson is well known throughout the township. Dr. and Mrs. H. J. Winkler, daughter Betty, and sons Henry and Billy, are vacationing in West Virginia. Andrew Johnson has left for a few weeks visit ,with his son-in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer V. Nelson, in Chicago. He will also visit with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hen ning Johnson, in Grand Rapids be fore returning . Mr. and Mrs. William Lahin, Mrs. Joseph Kallio and Mrs. Ray New land attended the farewell service in the copper country of their pas tor, Rev. McGhee, who will leave for the west. Mr. Berquist and children have returned to Milwaukee cornerin a brief visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alcid LaCosse. Leo Springsteen has sold his 20-acre farm to the Skanee to Oscar G. . Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Johnson have returned to Pontiac after a month's visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gust Lundberg. Mrs. James Rowe and son were in Negaunee recently to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. Har riett Biscomb, a prominent resi dent of that city.
