better yet, our dad, with the family, will drop in to dinner or supper and very thoughtfully bring the meal practically ready to put on the table. There is nothing left for you to do but say a blessing and enjoy the blessing provided. 0-0-0-The most shocking thing that has happened in our community since the accident that took the life of Scott Patterson, Jr., was the automobile accident that killed Philip Hanson three miles out of Lithonia recently. Such a tiny community and two such terrible tragedies within such a short time! The Nal Hansons moved into our community about 12 years ago, Philip was a boy of about 16 years then. He was born in Greene county September 29, 1909. He was a strong, well proportioned, handsome boy, very shy when I first knew him. He used to drive the milk truck from their dairy to Shepherd Baldwin's to pick up their milk and take both on to the train. He was very polite and so willing to do errands for finy of us on his trips through town. We liked him very much. In 1298 he secured a plaie with the Pulton Metal Bed Manufacturing Co., of Atlanta, and was driving one of their trucks at the time of his death on June 4.No one knows the cause of the accident that resulted in the over-turned truck. Since he drove day and night it could have b.een that he went to* sleep while driving. He did not drink at all, so it wa^ not caused from intoxication we know. I was told that in the seven years of his service as driver he had never even bent a fender on a truck before. His body was carried to the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he was (pronounced dead on arrival. The funeral was conducted by Revs. J. R, Williams and Low, at the Henvper-ley Funeral Parlor in Atlanta. He was buried in the College Park Cemetery. All the family from here attended. Philip Hanson was married' in 1932 to Miss Betty Elizabeth Kidd, of Atlanta. She, with one son, Robert Crawford Hanson, 21-months of age, survive him. Others of his immediate family surviving are N. L. Hanson, father;* Mrs. Kitty,Hanson, mother; three brothers, Crawford, Hugh and Oscar Thomas, al of this county, and two sister3, of Atlanta, Mrs. Herman Jolly and Mrs. R. P. Wingard. Our deepest sympathy goes out to this bereaved family—our neighbors and friends.
