German Bible ConferenceA fine program has been prepared for theBible Conference and Epworth League institute sponsored by the German MethodistEpiscopalians at Lakeside August 4-10. The meetings will be held simultaneously. The Bible Conference will begin each morning at6.30 with a prayer service, followed bypreaching at 8.30, Bible lectures at 9.30 and10.30. ‘’The following brethren will preach: Tuesday, the Rev. Fred Schaenzlin; Wednesday, the Rev. H. R. Bornemann; Thursday, the Rev. John H. Holtk Friday, theRev. C. J. Moeller; Saturday, Dr. John C.Marting. The Bible lecture each morning at 9.30 will be given by Dr. J. J. Hoffmann; the 10.30 Bible lectures in the main auditorium, by Dr. Beaven, of Colgate University Theological Seminary.The English services in the evening at 8o’clock will be in charge of the Rev. CharlesE. Severinghaus. The following brethren have been asked to preach: the Rev. C. J.Moeller, Dr. J. J. Hoffmann, Dr. John Mayer, Dr. Hugh Kennedy, Dr. W. H.Phelps, and the Rev. Emil I. Klotz.Dr. William Brickner will preach on Sunday morning, and in the afternoon there willbe a special service for men in the main auditorium, under the direction of Dr. BertEdward Smith, of Chicago. The Rev. Daniel Matthaei, No. 2319 Eoff Street, Wheeling, W. Va., will be glad to furnish any furtherinformation that may be desired.The Rev. Edward D. Edelmaier, of Detroit, Mich., will serve as dean of the Epworth League institute. Dr. W. H. Phelpswill lead the morning watch; Dr. Alfred Way will teach the Bible; Dr. Marshall Reed, general methods; Prof. F. Roehm, church-school methods, and the Rev. Charles E. Severinghaus and Miss Mary Samson, life work.This Bible Conference and Epworth Leagueinstitute, coming at the same time, affords an excellent opportunity for whole families to enjoy a pleasant and profitable outing at the same place, with recreation and study suitable for every member of the household. Theexpense is small but the opportunity great.
