One Repents, After Swallowing Acid and Cries for Help— All Will Recover Three women made unsuccessful at tempts to end their lives, Wednesday, two by taking poison, and one by turn ing on the gas. Mrs. Walter Dossin, 24 years old, of No. 720 Sixteenth st., told her hus band, at noon, that he would find her dead, which he from his work in the factory of his father, B. J. Dos sin, manufacturer of table relishes. He said that she had often made threats of the sort, and he thought he had argued her out of her intention when he left. She had been despond ent since the death of her baby, last October. During the afternoon, Mrs. Dossin sent her husband's little sister, Helen Dossin, aged seven, to a nearby drug store, to buy carbolic acid. The young woman took a small quantity of the fiery poison, then repented, and cried for help. Mrs. Coughlin, a neighbor, went to her assistance, and gave her some milk as an antidote. Mean while, Mrs. Dossin had sent little Helen to the factory with a note, in forming Dossin of her intentions. He hastened home, called Dr. C. F. Groff, of No. 572 Fourteenth-ave., and Mrs. Dossin was sent to a piper hospital in the Michigan ambulance. She will re cover. Mabel Cohen, 24 years old, of No. 217 First st., swallowed several anti septic tablets, Wednesday night, in an attempt to end her life. She was rush ed to St. Mary's hospital and is ex pected to recover. Mrs. Fanny Marks, 41 years old, of No. 95 Division st., was found uncon scious in her home, with the gas jets turned on, Wednesday night, and was taken to Grace hospital, where she is still in, a serious condition, but is ex pected to recover.
