FREEBORN Mrs. George Jones has been in Iowa a couple of weeks visiting her mother. Misses Bercy and Laura Seath were in Lanesboro at the district En deavor convention. Mr. and Mrs. Lattin were visitors here the first of the week. ‘The Freeborn band — discoursed their sweet music from their new band stand Thursday evening. Messrs. Chris and Peter Rasmus sen and Miss Caroling were in North Dakota last week and assisted Am und Halvorson in building a house. They say they do not want to go there to live. Mrs. Wallace Aughenbaugh and son, Dana, from Waseca, spent four or five days at the J. B. Purdie home recently. Miss Florence Miller, who is train eg for nurse in St. Peter hospital, is grow home for a vacaton. Misses Vernon Snyder and Annie Sorenson have closed their schools the week and will spend their vaca tion here. Miss Hannah Rafoth expects to spend her 4th in Albert, Lea hospital, the doctor, calling her trouble the all free prevalent appendicitis. Mrs J..H. Seath and two youngest auditors have been visiting near Mapleton this week, going up on the “Alphabet” to Cream. The ladies society of the M. BE. church, met with Mrs. W. H. Miller this week and next Thursday the 4ame negational society meets with Mrs. A. D. Scoville. Mrs. Dain and two youngest chil dren were in Albert Lee Monday mihi. The children’s day exercises at the M. E. church June 16th, passed off very nicely, a fine program being ren dered. Judge Kingstey’s decision in re gard to Sunday observance is accord ing to our idea of right and justice and all who enjoy a Christian Amer ica should help uphold its laws. Mr. and Mrs. E. Morehouse of Al ston were called up here to see about the burial of Mrs. Morehouses’ father, Mr. Augenbauzh, which took place in the village cemetery Wednesday. Miss Margaret Petersen is at the home of her sister, Mrs. G. A. Seath, taking a needed rest from her nurs ing duties. Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Scott took the strain here Thursday night and will spend some time visiting Mr. Scott's brother and other relatives in Wau saca, Wis. Misses Matle and Maggie” Hanson Mare finished’ their spring terms ,of Seheo. Miss Julia Peterson is now teach ing parochial school near Mr. Clem entson’s. Mr. and Mrs. Parry McDowell who have been here two weeks left Friday night for Long Point, 111, to visit relatives. Miss Lora Snyder starts Tuesday for Winona to attend summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Scoville who were married June 19th in Albert Les, and took their wedding trip to Mankato returned Friday evening and were given a reception by Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Scovitle. Invitations had been issued to seventy-five but on account of the rain only half that cumber We able to attend. The rooms Were prettily decorated with ee and locust flowers, the din s » having pink with orange a.as. A dainty lunch was sef.- All wish the young couple suc h s in life. Donald Scoville is now at home and assisted in the reception with hiis sister Friday evening. The old school house has changed hands again and is now located on the sight of the old blacksmith shop, and A. D. Scoville will look after ma chinery interests. ¢ Elgie Wright has taken the con act to do the fencing for the rail ad at twelve cents a rod and has t the men he can get at work. Contractor Luther could get no rum shipped here so lumber for Cre ward's house is being hauled from Flartland. Messrs. O. S. and Fred Gilmore were called to Glenwood Monday to suttend the funeral of Levi Gilmore who passed away quite unexpectedly. Sirs. Eastwood of Windom is mak ing her son, J. B. Purdie, and other friends a short visit.
