Brlatow, 1h., June 17.—Professor D. H. Oorrel.principal of Bristow schools, has haled Into court Inst week on a charge of assault and battery, The charges were tiled by girl students at the school, who tcstled that the teacher spanked them, and that he made a practice of spunking the girls.The teacher’s defense was tliat the girls were naughty and thot spankings were necessary to maintain discipline. He was accqultted and the school board Immediately Increased his 'salary.
