ST.JOHN’S DAY AT PRAIRIETON,DEDICATION OF THE IIALL OF PRAIRIETON LODGE NO. 117.ADDRESSES, POEMS AND MUSIC.Monday was selected for the dedica lion of the Masonic Hall it Prairieton, and for a grand picnic of the fraleroity, in the beautiful grove near town. Earlyin the forenoon hundred* of the neighboring population flocked into town, and were voon joined by a large delegation of Masona and others from thia city, accompanied by Tout e’i full bran band. At half past ten o'clock, the impmaive ceremony of the dedication was per-fomed, I*. M. Robert Van Valtah acting u Grand Maater, assisted by a number of gentlemen eminent in the Craft of this city. During the ceremonies appropriate in therm were sung by a choir under the eadership of Brother Warren Davis.At the conclusion of the services a profession of resident and visiting Masons ra.« formed in the usual manner, and narched to the grove, wherein appropriate stand and an ample array of seals had leen erected. Here the meeting was ailed to order by Brother Chauncey ’ritchard, who announced the order of zercises, and at whose call Rev. Mr. Lrmstrong opened the proceedings with•rayer.Ilon. JohnT. Scott was then introduced nd delivered a highly creditable address, racing the progress of Masonry from its rigin in the distant past until the pres-nt time, and giving many facts and reams calculated to remove any lingering rejudice that may exist against this no-le fraternity. The address being entire-t extemporaneous it was impossible to btain it for publication.Judge Thomas B. Long was then in-•oduced and read the following poem, ritten ex press Iv for the occasion, and cferring to the imposing ceremony of le morning. It is entitled:THE DEDICATION.I., Craftsmen!
