New York (UP—Three platy puses, the only ones outside their native Australia, apparently are ‘thriving at the New York Zoologi cal Park in’ the Bronx. The three strange, duck-billed animals have passed their second month at the 260. The death of that platypus was d due to nervous exhaustion. An oiities, therefore, have taken ex traordinary Treasures to soothe the nervous system of the new platy puses. The canopy over their pool was changed from white to green; the keepers uniform was , changed rom white to dark; the shape of lithe pool was revised; and special itars—mostly’ Wwomen—with bright clothes, were erused admittance. Persons carrying umbrellas also were barred. The system seems to be working. ‘So far, more than 50,000 persons have viewed the platypuses in their home, called the platypusary.
