Saddle Made For Halsey’sTokyo EntryRENO, Nev., June 24 (ANS) — Several months ago. Admiral William P. Halsey saw a photo of Hiro-hito on a handsome white horse, and asked B-29 bombardiers to lay off the Imperial stables because he wanted to ride into Tokyo on that steed. The only hitch, though, was that the Emperor’s pint-size saddle wouldn’t fit Halsey’s posterior. So craftsmen began work today on a handsome silver mounted deluxe saddle which the Reno Chamber of Commerce will give Halsey when Washoe County goes over the top in the Seventh War Loan drive. In addition to all the gaudy silver inlay and hand-tooling, the saddle will carry a lasso for use •‘if there are any Japs left whenthe Admiral rides through the ruins.”
