Everett Cas’eel, the nineteen-year-old son of W. F. Casteel, of the Holbrook country, met with an accident last Thursday, from the effects of which he will probably die. He was rounding up cattle in the northwest corner of the McBride ranch, ten miles from any house, when his horse ran into a steer, throwing young Casteel with great force to the ground. He struck on his head and the horse rolled completely over him. No bones were broken, but the young man was badly bruised on the right side of his head, the jar probably bursting a blood vessel, as he has been unconscious since the accident. The accident occurred ten miles from any hab tation, and it was necessary for the young man's brother, who was with him, to go that distance to procure assistance, Casteel lying on the ground in the hot ■un for severs! hours before a con veyance was procured to take him home. Ur. Ragsdale was called and did everything possible for the young man, but as brain fever' let in on the third day after the accident, the doctor says there is no hope for bis recovery.
