PHILADELPHIA, June 18.On Monday morning laft the inhabitants of Philadelphia were generally engaged m beholding the wonderful phenomenon of an almoft total Eclipfe of the Sum The darkntfs, at its greateft obfeuration, had rather a novel appearance, but not greater than that produced by an approaching ftorm.—There w-as a fendble alteration in the air,, the Thermometer fell 4 degrees during the progrefs and fullnefsof the E-clipfe. A Star was vifible to the naked eye for the fpace of aa hour, towards the fouth weft. (Pcutfon.)
