Blue Island’s Connie Mack team defeated Oak Lawn Sun day at O.L. by the score of 5 to 2. Ken Gehrke pitched a no hitter going into the sixth inn ing until Romaniak singled to center to break the spell and drive in Oak Lawn’s first run. Big Paul Lovrich took over the pitching in the seventh inn ing, only to face two men to end the ball game. Blue Island scored all its runs in the first inning. Ken John son led off with a single, Ernie Pedersen walked, Cary Chap pel struck out, Dick Schulte lined a long double to right field chasing home Johnson and Pedersen. Bussiere then sing led to center, scoring Schulte. Chica struck out, Wendling then walked, stole second and scored along with Bussiere on a throwing error. This Sunday Blue Island plays at home against the mighty Pe quods. National runner-ups in 1964. Bronka and Labriola are ex pected to send Lovrich and Gehrke to the hill, with Jim Daubert in the Bull Pen. John Dillenberg, St. Ignatius star who has been out with a broken hand, is also expected back this week end. Game time is at 1 p.m. Sun day at D.D.E.HLS. field.
