Of this number more than 2,700 are out of town citizens. St. Louis sent up a special load of 900 members of the Masonic order and'quite a number of citizens. Kansas City contributed 400, and Mo-berly, Mexico and Fulton more than 400, Special trains were run over the Missouri Pacific from St. Louis and Kansas City and over the Wabash and Chicago Alton. Had not the. weatherHENRY HEINRICHS, Capital Booster.been threatening the crowd would have been more than doubled. The city has not been so splendidly decorated in many years. At noon all business ceased and the automobiles and other vehicles were banished from High street, between Monroe and Washington, so as to leave clear ground for the monster parade. The parade is the real feature, sincethe actual laying of the comer stone is but the ritual work of the Masonic fraternity for such occasions and is not fully understood in all of its typical meaning, save by members of the fraernity. Former Chief Justice Henry W. Lamm of Sedalia reached here this morning and was substituted forED. AUSTIN,. Secretary of the Commercial Club.Governor Hadley as an orator for the occasion. The main speech will be delivered by Governor Major, who will review some of the splendid history of the State and the noble records left by Missourians who have long since been numbered with the dead. It is a speech that will be preserved as long as the new Capitol lasts, and that will be long after everybody now living is dead. The new Capitol was well decorated for the occasion and advance preparations made for the event.
