Many Complaints Heard About Ours in All Parts of City, Danger to Children and Others .It is about time the city author iies were taking Steps to abate the dog nuisance,” said a well- known citi zen today. © The city is overrun with dogs which have come to be a real danger to children and to people driving along the cay streets. Recent occurrences are surely sufficient to convince the officials who have it in their power to deal with the dog question that the streets should be cleared of these animals.” Tuesday night's accident in which a young lady was thrown from her horse and perhaps fatally hurt has aroused a very strong feeling in fa ct of ridding, the city streets of dogs. Which have come to be a terror to a large number of citizens. A few days ago, while a well known lady was driving along Thir teenth street her horse was attacked by a vicious looking collie, and every effort to drive the dog away was un successful. The horse became al most frantic, but was held under con trol. Finally, the lady got away from the dog and drove down town, where she got a policeman and took him in the carriage along up Thirteenth Street, where the dog was still at his usual work of attacking nearly every rig that passed along. On Assiniboine avenue on Thurs day, while one of the city doctors was driving along his horse was at tacked by a growling car which fol lowed the horse for several blocks and could not be shaken off. A run away was very narrowly averted. A small boy was attacked by a big Fellow dog on Sixth street yesterday, and though the little fellow escaped injury it was only because of the timely assistance of a gentleman passing at the time. On Lorne avenue a few days ago a baby girl was slightly bitten and scratched by a black cocker spaniel. During the last few days com plaints have been coming from all parts of the city about dogs attack ing horses and children, and there is a very strong feeling that steps should at once be taken to have all dogs kept securely tied on the own er’s premises or muzzled.
