The plazxa has been sheathed overhead with hard pine and the new chambers are all completed and all furnished with the latest patterns of hotel furnishings. The pool yoom has been renovated and will be much appreciated by the tourists who delight in passing an hour or so each day In this pleasurable game. At the present time the guests are being served in the private dining room and during the season this will be used for dally excursionists that desire a genuine shore dinner. Applications are daily being received among which are several from former guests of past years. The hotel will without doubt eftjoy a prosperous season.Mr. and Mrs. George A. Collin and family of Conway. N. H., are among those that will spend their summer outing here next month and they will be Joined by^ friends. The grounds and beach are being cleared of all debris and the Inn is also being painted. When the work la completed it will add much to the attractiveness of this secluded spotRev. Dr. L. M. Robinson, professor of canon law and literature at the Philadelphia Divinity school at Philadelphia. Pa., was here for a few days last week. Dr. Robinson Is at the present time at his farm, but later in the month he will attend the reunion of the American Librarian Association at Bretton Woods. X. H.. of which organization he is president. While at the mountains he will have as guests his two neices. Misses Helen and Shirley Robinson of Arlington Heights, Mass.Professor F. A. McElwain. warden of the Seabury Divinity school at Faribault, Minn., in company with his wife and child, are expected at the house early in July for an extended visitMiss Dorothy Massey, daughter of Dr. G. Betton Massey of Haverford, Pa., with her cousin. Miss Grace E. Brooks of Chestertown. Md.. arrived Wednesday for an extended vacation. Miss Massey attends the Moravian School at Linden Hall Seminary, Lltitz, Pa., and she Is the fourth generation of her family to attend this Institution. Miss Brooks attends Pratt Institute. Brooklyn. N. Y.. and she Is greatly interested In art.last Friday on their annual banquet.This branch of the Peaks Island House business has all grown up under the careful management of Mr. Rowe and It redounds much to the credit of the house.Mr. WU1 H. Stevfns of New York, manager of Greenwood Garden,. registered for the season June 5.The dates of the semi-weekly dances are announced for Tuesday and Friday of each week with bam dances and costume parties occasionally. The ladles arrived Sunday and the first midday concert was given that day.Mr. John McCrlllls who has spent many seasons here will return this, year as will also the Murphys. Campbells. Stones. Mr. George Upham Is registered for an Indefinite stay.CASCO BAY HOUSE.MANY ORGANIZATIONS ARE COM-ING TO THE CLAM BAKE PAY-ILION.The hotel will open for the season early next week.Proprietor Charles E. Cushing has been busy catering to several organizations the past week and the Clam Bake Pavilion Is maintining its reputation as the best place in Casco Bay for a genuine clam bake. Thursday the Winslow Lewis Commanaery. Knights Templars of Salem with band numbering all together, one hundred and fifteen men were here for their outing and enjoyed a clam bake. This organization was delighted with their dinner and during their sojourn the j band gave a fine concert which was lis- \ tened to by a large concourse of people. Saturday last the groundsand Pavilion were thronged with a happy picnic party that was here for the day. Saturday next the Commercial Travelers Association with band, numbering over three hundred are coming to the hotel for their annual summer outing. They have p’anned a fine list of sports and some interest ig events are looked for. Mr. Cushingwports that he has many engagements from organizations for their outing here and he Is pleased with the outlook for a most successful season.Saturday Mrs. Charles E. Cushing and Mrs. Mattie Merrill went to Berlin. X. H. to attend the marriage or j Mrs. Alice Cannell and Mr. George MacVane, which took place there.Mr. and Mrs. George H. Mr. Hanna is connected with the Grand Trunk Railroad.Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Robertson and family of Montreal. Can. are to be with us again this season and they will occupy the new cottage taking thefrmeal8 at the hotel. This is another of the many Canadian families that make this hotel their summer abode. The amount of this business Is usually fluctuating, but it haa been rather better than usual this month. Manager Rowe Is also dally receiving the guests who are to remain for a longer term, and some who are booked for the whole season have already begun to arrive. Among th?*e are Mr. And Mrs. Nathaniel C. Fowler and family of Boston, who have a suite of four rooms. Mr. Fowler 1s known as the Desn of advertising men In this country and though not now actively engaged In business he 1s alert to the great development of advertising In recent years. The family arrived Saturday.Yesterday the Maine dentists, who sre to stop for a three days* outing, arrived, and they are registered to the number of about fifty. The Conklin club and the Bowery Beach sewing club both banqueted here Tuesday.
