Haynes the night porter at the Hotel Pernio came up from stoking the hotel furnaces hi* unlocked the* bar room in order lo pass through. Turning to lock the door be was confronted by a man with along revolver who threatened to blow his brains out if ho uttered a word. At the same time two more men came from the rear door, leading from the lavatory and the watchman was taken into the card room opening off the bar room, his pockets were, then rifled, and after having been robbed of about was thenbound to a chair. Then the till was emptied, the third robber having robbed the cash register of *;7.3.Y With a parting hint to make no outcrv the men dis-appeared, locking the door leading into tlie bar.The porter, cutoff from assistance. shouted for help, which.however, did not arrive for an hour and a half, when lie wasfound hv Manager Uookes of the•- *hotel ami a Mr. Sutherland of Coal creek, after bursting open the door to get to him.The .oblwrs wore a half maskover their faces and green goggles. No clue has been obtained, the robbers disapjiear ing as silently as they came.June l!Last night t hoUnion Hotel, King's Hotel and Blundell's grocery were entered and the tills swept clean. There is apparently no clue to the perpetrators of any of these robberies. In the case of the Hotel Fernie the porter was tied to a chair with towels and aprons, and at the point of a revolver ordered to keep quiet.
