Diplomas Presented to 119 Pupils of the High and Grammar Schools— Closing Exercises, DEDHAM, June 4—The schools of the town have held their closing exer cises and the pupils, after a good years work, are enjoying the much needed rest from the close attention to studies. To those having faithfully completed their course in the various schools, diplomas have been awarded, and it is those who have occupied the attention of parents and friends the past two ays. This year 119 pairs have received these rewards, 90 in the grammar schools and 29 in the high school. Of these 60 are boys, 43 in the grammar and 17 in the high school and 69 are fre 47 in the grammar and 12 in the igh school. the closing exercises commenced yes terday afternoon when the Ames gram mar school held its exercises at 3, fol lowed by the high school in the evening. This morning the Oakdale school held its exercises at 10 and the Avery gram mar school this afternoon. One of the features in the high school and one of the grammar schools was the taking part in the exercises of pupils besides those of the graduat ing class. At the Ames grammar school yester day afternoon the parents and friends completely filled the large exhibition hall. The program opened with a song, “Russian Battle Hymn, ’ by grades 8 and 9. Then a two-act play, “Beresford Benevolent Society,” was given by mem bers of the ger the class, with the following cast: Mrs Makepeace...........Miss Margaret: French Mrs Wallace..........Miss Margaret Copeland Mrs James ...
